3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 68A.402, subsection 2, paragraph c, Code
22022, is amended to read as follows:
3c. Nonelection year. A candidate’s committee of a candidate
4for statewide office, the general assembly, or county office
5shall file reports in a nonelection year as follows:
6Report due:Covering period:
7July 19January 1 through July 14
8January 19January 1 July 15 through
9December 31
10of the previous year
11EXPLANATION
12The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
13the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
14This bill relates to campaign disclosure reports in
15nonelection years. The bill requires a candidate’s committee
16of a candidate for statewide office, the general assembly, or
17county office, to file a campaign disclosure report on July 19
18of each nonelection year that covers the period of January 1
19through July 14. The bill changes the covering period for the
20report due on January 19 to July 15 through December 31 of the
21previous year.
