House Study Bill 576 - IntroducedA Bill ForAn Act 1relating to the sale of native distilled spirits for
2on-premises consumption by certain manufacturers of native

4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 123.178B, subsection 4, Code 2022, is
2amended to read as follows:
34. A person holding a class “C” native wine permit and a
4class “A” wine permit whose primary purpose is manufacturing
5native wine may purchase beer from a wholesaler holding a class
6“A” beer permit for sale at retail for consumption on or off
7the premises covered by the class “C” native wine permit and
8may purchase native distilled spirits from a class “E” liquor
9control licensee for sale at retail for consumption on the
10premises covered by the class “C” native wine permit.
11EXPLANATION
12The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
13the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
14This bill allows a person holding a class “C” native wine
15permit and a class “A” wine permit whose primary purpose is
16manufacturing native wine to purchase native distilled spirits
17from a class “E” liquor control licensee for sale at retail for
18consumption on the premises covered by the class “C” native
19wine permit.
