4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1   Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  239.1  Cooperation with child
2support enforcement — supplemental nutrition assistance program
3eligibility.
   41.  An applicant for supplemental nutrition assistance
5program benefits shall be required to cooperate with the
6child support recovery unit as a condition of eligibility as
7specified in 7 C.F.R.§273.11(o).
   82.  As used in this section:
   9a.  “Applicant” means an individual who is applying for
10supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits in the
11state.
   12b.  “Supplemental nutrition assistance program” means the
13supplemental nutrition assistance program as defined in 7
14U.S.C. §2012.
15EXPLANATION
16The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
17the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
   18This bill requires that an applicant for supplemental
19nutrition assistance program benefits shall cooperate with the
20child support recovery unit as a condition of eligibility for
21supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits.
