4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 124.204, subsection 4, paragraphs s and
2t, Code 2021, are amended by striking the paragraphs.
3EXPLANATION
4The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
5the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
6This bill removes psilocybin and psilocyn from the list of
7substances classified as schedule I controlled substances under
8Iowa’s uniform controlled substances Act (Code chapter 124).
9Under Code section 124.203, a substance that has a high
10potential for abuse and has no accepted medical use in
11treatment in the United States or lacks accepted safety for use
12in treatment under medical supervision may be classified as a
13schedule I controlled substance under Code chapter 124.
