4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 598.21C, subsection 1, Code 2021, is
2amended by adding the following new paragraph:
3 NEW PARAGRAPH. 0l. Violation of a protective order or a
4no-contact order issued against a party.
5EXPLANATION
6The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
7the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
8This bill provides that in determining whether a substantial
9change in circumstances exists as a basis for modification of
10a child, spousal, or medical support order, the court shall
11consider the violation of a protective order or a no-contact
12order issued against a party.
