3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1   Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  94.1  Definitions.
   2As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise
3requires:
   41.  “Employee” means a natural person who is employed in this
5state for wages by an employer.
   62.  “Employer” means a person, as defined in chapter 4, who
7in this state employs for wages a natural person.
8   Sec. 2.  NEW SECTION.  94.2  Mandatory implantation of devices
9in employees prohibited.
   101.  An employer shall not require that an employee have
11a microchip or other device implanted or inserted in the
12employee’s body. An employer shall not provide any incentive
13or privilege to an employee for agreeing to have a microchip or
14other device implanted or inserted in the employee’s body that
15is not equally available to employees who do not so agree.
   162.  An employee may voluntarily agree to have a microchip or
17other device implanted or inserted in the employee’s body if
18not required or offered an incentive or privilege to do so by
19an employer.
20EXPLANATION
21The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
22the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
   23This bill prohibits an employer from requiring that an
24employee have a microchip or other device implanted or inserted
25in the employee’s body. The bill also prohibits an employer
26from providing any incentive or privilege to an employee for
27agreeing to have a microchip or other device implanted or
28inserted in the employee’s body that is not equally available
29to employees who do not so agree.
   30The bill provides that an employee may voluntarily agree
31to have a microchip or other device implanted or inserted in
32the employee’s body if not required or offered an incentive or
33privilege to do so by an employer.
