3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. EXTENSION OF CONTINUING EDUCATION COMPLETION
2DEADLINES. Upon the expiration of section seventy-nine of the
3Proclamation of Disaster Emergency issued by the governor on
4December 9, 2020, or a section of any subsequent proclamation
5with the same effect, whichever is later, each professional
6licensing board administering the code chapters and Iowa
7administrative code provisions listed in section seventy-nine
8of the Proclamation of Disaster Emergency issued by the
9governor on December 9, 2020, shall grant to each licensee
10holding a license that requires the completion of continuing
11education requirements an additional six months to complete
12any continuing education requirement beyond the deadline that
13was suspended by section seventy-nine of the Proclamation of
14Disaster Emergency issued by the governor on December 9, 2020,
15or a section of any subsequent proclamation with the same
16effect.
17EXPLANATION
18The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
19the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
20This bill relates to deadlines for the completion of
21continuing education requirements for persons holding certain
22professional licenses. The bill extends the deadlines
23to complete such requirements by six months following the
24expiration of section 79 of the Proclamation of Disaster
25Emergency issued by the governor on December 9, 2020,
26which suspended such deadlines, or of a section of a later
27proclamation with the same effect.
