3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. REPEAL. Chapter 28L, Code 2021, is repealed.
2EXPLANATION
3The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
4the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
5This bill repeals the state interagency Missouri river
6authority. Under current law, the authority consists of
7representatives from the state executive branch who are
8tasked with representing the interests of this state with
9regard to its membership in the Missouri river association of
10states and tribes, an interstate association of government
11representatives formed to seek consensus solutions to issues
12impacting the Missouri river basin. The state withdrew from
13the Missouri river association of states and tribes in 2011 and
14the association has since disbanded.
