Senate Resolution 118 - Introduced

An Act 1honoring Senator Tim Kapucian for his
2years of service in the Iowa Senate.
3WHEREAS, Senator Tim Kapucian was first elected
4to the Senate in 2008, and has represented portions
5of Benton, Grundy, Iowa, Poweshiek, and Tama counties
6during his service in the Senate;and
7WHEREAS, Senator Kapucian was born in Marengo,
8Iowa, and raised on a farm northwest of Keystone,
9Iowa, earned a B.S. in animal science from Iowa State
10University, and currently owns and runs a grain and
11livestock farm with his wife just outside Keystone;and
12WHEREAS, Senator Kapucian’s professional career
13has included service as president of the Iowa Pork
14Producers and membership on the Agriculture Advisory
15Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago;and
16WHEREAS, during his Senate tenure, Senator Kapucian
17has served on a variety of committees, including
18the Agriculture, Appropriations, Economic Growth,
19Local Government, Natural Resources and Environment,
20and Transportation (Chairperson and Ranking
21Member) standing committees, the Transportation,
22Infrastructure, and Capitals Appropriations
23Subcommittee (Vice-Chairperson and Ranking Member)
24and the Economic Development Appropriations
25Subcommittee (Ranking Member), and the International
26Relations Committee and the Public Retirement Systems
27Committee;and
28WHEREAS, Senator Kapucian’s career in the Senate has
-1-1been exemplified by his commitment to a strong rural
2and agricultural economy and efforts to strengthen
3Iowa’s economy through job growth legislation, as
4well as being a champion for good roads, bridges, and
5infrastructure;NOW THEREFORE,
   6BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate honors
7and thanks Senator Tim Kapucian for his years of
8service in the Senate, and wishes him and his family
9the very best in the years to come.
