2conducted by organizations representing veterans.
3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1   Section 1.  Section 99B.27, subsection 2, paragraph o, Code
22020, is amended to read as follows:
3o.  A qualified organization representing veterans licensed
4under this section shall not hold more than two card game
5tournaments per month and shall not hold
a card game tournament
6within seven six calendar days of another card game tournament
7conducted by that qualified organization representing veterans.
8Card game tournaments held during a game night conducted
9pursuant to section 99B.26 shall not count toward the limit
10of one card game tournament per week six calendar days for a
11license holder. A qualified organization representing veterans
12shall be allowed to hold only one card game tournament during
13any period of twenty-four consecutive hours, starting from the
14time the card game tournament begins.
15EXPLANATION
16The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
17the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
18This bill concerns the frequency and timing of card game
19tournaments conducted by a qualified organization representing
20veterans. Current law prohibits the holding of a card game
21tournament by a qualified veterans organization within seven
22calendar days of another card game tournament conducted by that
23organization and limits the maximum number of such card game
24tournaments to be held in a month to two. The bill eliminates
25the per-month maximum and only prohibits holding a card game
26tournament within six calendar days of another card game
27tournament.
