3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1   Section 1.  DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND LAND STEWARDSHIP
2— DOUBLE UP FOOD BUCKS PROGRAM.
  There is appropriated from
3the general fund of the state to the department of agriculture
4and land stewardship for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
52019, and ending June 30, 2020, the following amount, or so
6much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purposes
7designated:
   8To provide grants to support and expand the double up
9food bucks program administered by the Iowa healthiest
10state initiative to make fresh fruits and vegetables sold at
11farmers markets and grocery stores accessible to families or
12individuals who reside in this state and who receive assistance
13through the federal supplemental nutrition assistance program:
..................................................  $14100,000
   15A grant recipient that receives funding pursuant to this
16section shall provide at least a dollar-for-dollar match of the
17grant assistance.
18EXPLANATION
19The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
20the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
   21This bill appropriates $100,000 from the general fund of the
22state to the department of agriculture and land stewardship
23for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019, and ending June
2430, 2020, to provide grants to support and expand the double
25up food bucks program administered by the Iowa healthiest
26state initiative to make fresh fruits and vegetables sold at
27farmers markets and grocery stores accessible to families or
28individuals who reside in this state and who receive assistance
29through the federal supplemental nutrition assistance program.
30A grant recipient that receives funding shall provide at least
31a dollar-for-dollar match of the grant assistance.
