    An Act 1congratulating the Morningside College
    2Mustangs football team on winning the National
    3Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National
    4Championship.
    5WHEREAS, in 2018, the Morningside College Mustangs
    6football team had a 15-0 overall record and finished
    7the season ranked as the number one team in the
    8National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics;and
    9WHEREAS, on December 15, 2018, the Mustangs won
    10the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics
    11National Championship at Daytona Stadium in Daytona
    12Beach, Florida, defeating Benedictine College for the
    13program’s first national championship;and
    14WHEREAS, the Mustangs’ accomplishment marks only the
    15sixth time that an Iowa college or university football
    16team has earned a national championship recognized by
    17the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics
    18or the National Collegiate Athletic Association;NOW
    19THEREFORE,
          20BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
    21congratulates the coaches and members of the
    22Morningside College Mustangs football team on winning
    23the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics
    24National Championship.
