3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1   Section 1.  Section 483A.8C, subsection 1, Code 2019, is
2amended to read as follows:
   31.  A nonambulatory person who is a resident may be issued
4one any sex deer hunting license which is valid and may be used
5 to hunt deer with a shotgun or a muzzleloading rifle during
6any established deer hunting season using the method of take
7authorized by rule for each season being hunted. If the tag is
8filled during one of the seasons, the license will not be valid
9in subsequent seasons
. A person who applies for a license
10pursuant to this section shall complete a form, as required
11by rule, that is signed by a physician who verifies that the
12person is nonambulatory.
13EXPLANATION
14The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
15the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
   16This bill changes the weapons requirements for nonambulatory
17hunters.
   18Currently, nonambulatory hunters may only use a shotgun or a
19muzzleloading rifle while using an any sex deer hunting license
20during any established deer hunting season.
   21The bill allows nonambulatory hunters to use the method of
22take authorized for the season being hunted while using an any
23sex deer hunting license. If a tag is filled in one of the
24seasons, the license will not be valid in subsequent seasons.
