Born August 9, 1816, in Staten Island, Richmond County, New York. Mr. Peck came to Iowa and settled in Lee County, Iowa. He was a businessman and a legislator. Mr. Peck married Miss Susan Tyler in 1849, and they had one son. He was married a second time to Maria Stout. Mr. Peck represented Lee County in the first constitutional convention, which met at Iowa City on October 7, 1844. He was a partner in Lee County Democrat newspaper in Fort Madison until he was bought out by Mr. R.W. Albright. Mr. Peck died January 23, 1887, and is buried at Elmwood Cemetery, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
