Senate Resolution 12 - Reprinted SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 12 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION (As Amended and Passed by the Senate July 11, 2023 ) A Resolution amending Senate Rules for the Ninetieth 1 General Assembly. 2 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate Rules 3 for the Ninetieth General Assembly, as adopted by 4 motion during the 2023 Regular Session of the Ninetieth 5 General Assembly, are amended as follows: 6 Rule 7 7 Order and Time of Business —— First Extraordinary 8 Session, July 2023 9 1. On or before 9:15 a.m. on July 11, 2023, the 10 senate shall conclude debate and vote on the adoption 11 of Senate Concurrent Resolution 8 or House Concurrent 12 Resolution 10 to provide for the business of the 2023 13 First Extraordinary Session of the Ninetieth General 14 Assembly pursuant to joint rule 3. 15 2. Both parties may utilize the time after the 16 morning recess of the senate and prior to the 11:00 17 a.m. convening of the senate state government committee 18 on July 11, 2023, for party caucuses. 19 3. The senate state government committee shall meet 20 at 11:00 a.m. on July 11, 2023. The order of business 21 of the committee shall be as follows: 22 a. Call to order. 23 b. Roll call. 24 c. Approval of the minutes from the previous 25 meeting. 26 d. Consideration of Senate Study Bill 1223 by a 27 -1- SR 12 (3) 90 ec/ns/mb 1/ 3

S.R. 12 subcommittee of the whole. 28 e. Consideration of Senate Study Bill 1223 by the 1 senate state government committee. 2 f. For purposes of the senate state government 3 committee meeting, all proposed committee amendments 4 shall be prepared and distributed to the committee no 5 later than 11:00 a.m. on July 11, 2023. 6 g. On or before 2:00 p.m. on July 11, 2023, all 7 debate shall cease and the senate state government 8 committee shall vote on all amendments, motions, and 9 final action on Senate Study Bill 1223. 10 h. For purposes of Senate Study Bill 1223 and any 11 successor, rule 40, unnumbered paragraph 2, is not 12 applicable. 13 4. Both parties may utilize the time after the 14 conclusion of the senate state government committee and 15 prior to the senate reconvening at 4:00 p.m. on July 16 11, 2023, for party caucuses. 17 5. Any bill approved by the senate state government 18 committee on July 11, 2023, shall be eligible for 19 immediate consideration by the senate. 20 6. The senate shall reconvene at 4:00 p.m. on July 21 11, 2023, for the consideration of Senate File 579 or 22 House File 732. All proposed amendments to Senate File 23 579 or House File 732 shall be filed and made available 24 electronically to the senate no later than 4:00 p.m. 25 on July 11, 2023. 26 7. On or before 11:00 p.m. on July 11, 2023, all 27 debate shall cease and the senate shall vote on all 28 amendments, motions, and final passage of Senate File 29 -2- SR 12 (3) 90 ec/ns/mb 2/ 3
