1.
Section
135.176,
subsection
1,
Code
2021,
is

amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

.
d.
For
the
period
beginning
July
1,
2021,
3
and
ending
June
30,
2026,
the
payment
by
the
sponsor
of
medical
4
residency
program
liability
costs
subject
to
provision
by
the
5
sponsor
of
dollar-for-dollar
matching
funds
used
for
payment
6
of
such
costs.
This
paragraph
shall
not
apply
to
medical
7
residency
programs
to
which
chapter
669
applies.

Sec.
2.
Section
135.176,
subsection
2,
paragraphs
e
and
f,
9
Code
2021,
are
amended
to
read
as
follows:
10
e.
The
maximum
award
of
grant
funds
to
a
particular
11
individual
sponsor
per
year.
An
individual
sponsor
that
12
establishes
a
new
or
alternative
campus
accredited
medical
13
residency
training
program
as
defined
in
subsection
1,
14
paragraph
“a”
,
shall
not
receive
more
than
fifty
percent
15
of
the
state
matching
funds
available
each
year
to
support
16
the
program.
An
individual
sponsor
proposing
the
provision
17
of
a
new
residency
position
within
an
existing
accredited
18
medical
residency
or
fellowship
training
program
as
specified
19
in
subsection
1,
paragraph
“b”
,
or
the
funding
of
residency
20
positions
which
are
in
excess
of
the
federal
residency
cap
as
21
defined
in
subsection
1,
paragraph
“c”
,
or
the
funding
of
the
22
payment
by
the
sponsor
of
medical
residency
program
liability
23
costs
subject
to
provision
by
the
sponsor
of
dollar-for-dollar
24
matching
funds
used
for
payment
of
such
costs
as
specified
25
in
subsection
1,
paragraph
“d”
,
shall
not
receive
more
than
26
twenty-five
percent
of
the
state
matching
funds
available
each
27
year
to
support
the
program.

Use
of
the
funds
awarded.
Funds
may
be
used
to
pay
the
29
costs
of
establishing,
expanding,
or
supporting
an
accredited
30
graduate
medical
education
program
as
specified
in
this
31
section
,
including
but
not
limited
to
the
costs
associated
32
with
residency
stipends
and
physician
faculty
stipends.
For
33
the
period
beginning
July
1,
2021,
and
ending
June
30,
2026,
34
use
of
the
funds
awarded
may
include
payment
by
the
sponsor
of
