H.F. 2468 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 679A.20 Limitations of arbitration 1 proceedings. 2 If, at the time a demand for arbitration was made or notice 3 of intention to arbitrate was served, the claim sought to 4 be arbitrated would have been barred by limitation of time 5 pursuant to chapter 614 had it been asserted in a court of 6 this state, a party may assert the limitation as a bar to the 7 arbitration on an application to the court. 8 Sec. 2. APPLICABILITY. This Act applies to all arbitration 9 proceedings commenced on or after the effective date of 10 this Act and any arbitration proceeding that is pending on 11 the effective date of this Act where asserting a statute of 12 limitation is not expressly prohibited by the rules governing 13 the arbitration proceeding. 14 -1- HF 2468 (2) 89 cm/jh/md 1/ 1
