H.F. 2198 Section 1. Section 726.23, subsection 2, Code 2022, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . e. Fingerprints are voluntarily given with 3 the written permission of the child and parent or guardian for 4 the purpose of allowing the child to work as an employee or 5 substitute at a child care center as defined in section 237A.1. 6 Sec. 2. DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES —— CHILD CARE PROVIDER 7 MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT. The department of human services 8 shall amend its administrative rules pursuant to chapter 17A to 9 provide that employees and substitutes working at a child care 10 center who are sixteen years of age or older may provide child 11 care to school age children without additional supervision. 12 For the purposes of this section, “child care” and “child care 13 center” mean the same as defined in section 237A.1. 14 -1- HF 2198 (3) 89 dg/rh/md 1/ 1
