S.F. 2321 Section 1. Section 724.4, subsection 4, Code 2018, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . l. A person who is eighteen years of age 3 or older who goes armed with a dangerous weapon that directs 4 an electric current, impulse, wave, or beam that produces a 5 high-voltage pulse designed to immobilize a person, as long 6 as such a dangerous weapon does not generate a projectile 7 that directs an electric current, impulse, wave, or beam that 8 produces a high-voltage pulse designed to immobilize a person, 9 and such a dangerous weapon is not used in the commission of a 10 public offense. 11 Sec. 2. Section 724.4, Code 2018, is amended by adding the 12 following new subsection: 13 NEW SUBSECTION . 5. A minor who goes armed with a dangerous 14 weapon that directs an electric current, impulse, wave, or beam 15 that produces a high-voltage pulse designed to immobilize a 16 person, whether concealed or not, commits a simple misdemeanor. 17 -1- SF 2321 (3) 87 jm/rh/ko 1/ 1
