3.
Section
633B.116,
Code
2018,
is
amended
by
adding

the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
2A.
Upon
a
petition
to
the
court
to
review
17
an
agent’s
conduct
relating
to
pending
criminal
charges
of
18
dependent
adult
abuse
or
an
investigation
of
dependent
adult
19
abuse
related
to
the
principal,
the
court
may
suspend
the
20
agent’s
power
of
attorney
and
may
appoint
a
guardian
ad
litem
21
to
represent
the
principal.
The
guardian
ad
litem
shall
be
a
22
practicing
attorney.
