Section
1.
SUPPLEMENTAL
REIMBURSEMENT
FOR
GROUND
EMERGENCY

MEDICAL
TRANSPORTATION
SERVICES
PROVIDED
TO
MEDICAID

BENEFICIARIES.

1.
The
department
of
human
services
shall
submit
a
Medicaid
4
state
plan
amendment
to
the
centers
for
Medicare
and
Medicaid
5
services
of
the
United
States
department
of
health
and
human
6
services
to
request
authorization
to
establish
and
administer
a
7
methodology
to
provide
supplemental
reimbursement
to
eligible
8
ground
emergency
medical
transportation
providers
that
provide
9
ground
emergency
medical
transportation
services
to
Medicaid
10
beneficiaries.
For
the
purposes
of
this
section,
“eligible
11
ground
emergency
medical
transportation
provider”
means
a
12
provider
who
provides
ground
emergency
medical
transportation
13
services
to
Medicaid
beneficiaries
and
is
enrolled
as
a
14
Medicaid
provider
during
the
period
being
claimed.

2.
The
emergency
medical
transportation
intergovernmental
16
transfer
obligation
established
under
this
section
is
17
contingent
upon
the
continuation
of
the
federal
Medicaid
18
funding
methodology
in
effect
on
the
effective
date
of
this
19
Act.
If
the
federal
methodology
is
changed
after
the
effective
20
date
of
this
Act
in
a
manner
that
negatively
impacts
the
21
intergovernmental
transfer
obligation,
as
determined
by
the
22
department,
the
department
shall
no
longer
be
obligated
to
23
continue
the
intergovernmental
transfer.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
immediate
25
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.
