Section
1.
Section
321.1,
Code
2015,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsections:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
06A.
“Automated
traffic
law
enforcement
3
system”
means
a
device
with
one
or
more
sensors
working
in
4
conjunction
with
one
of
the
following:
5
a.
An
official
traffic-control
signal,
to
produce
recorded
6
images
of
motor
vehicles
entering
an
intersection
against
a
red
7
signal
light.
8
b.
A
speed
measuring
device,
to
produce
recorded
images
of
9
motor
vehicles
traveling
at
a
prohibited
rate
of
speed.
10
c.
A
railroad
grade
crossing
signal
light,
as
described
in
11
section
321.342,
to
produce
images
of
vehicles
violating
the
12
signal
light.

d.
Any
official
traffic-control
device,
if
failure
to
comply
14
with
the
official
traffic-control
device
constitutes
a
moving
15
violation
under
this
chapter.

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
006A.
“Automated
traffic
law
enforcement
17
system
vendor”
means
a
person
who
provides
or
proposes
to
18
provide
services
related
to
the
installation,
maintenance,
19
or
operation
of
an
automated
traffic
law
enforcement
system
20
pursuant
to
a
contract
with
a
local
authority.

2.
NEW
SECTION
.
321.260A
Automated
traffic
law
22
enforcement
——
notice
of
fine
distribution
on
citation.
23
If
a
local
authority
issues
a
citation
as
a
result
of
an
24
image
or
any
other
indication
of
activity
obtained
from
an
25
automated
traffic
law
enforcement
system,
the
citation
shall
26
provide
an
itemized
list
of
the
fines
and
fees
assessed
27
pursuant
to
the
citation,
the
name
of
each
automated
traffic
28
law
enforcement
system
vendor
that
will
receive
a
portion
of
29
the
fines
or
fees,
the
amount
of
the
fines
or
fees
retained
30
by
the
local
authority,
and
the
amount
of
the
fines
or
fees
31
that
each
automated
traffic
law
enforcement
system
vendor
will

receive.
