H.F. 2148 Section 1. Section 321.1, Code 2016, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 76A. “Sports car” means a motor vehicle 3 originally manufactured with seats for two passengers, with a 4 front bumper that sits eight inches from the ground or less, 5 and capable of exceeding one hundred thirty miles per hour. 6 Sec. 2. Section 321.37, subsection 2, Code 2016, is amended 7 to read as follows: 8 2. Registration plates issued for a motor vehicle which is 9 model year 1948 or older, and is reconstructed or specially 10 constructed vehicles built to resemble a model year 1948 11 vehicle or older, is a sports car, or is registered as an 12 antique vehicle under section 321.115, other than a truck 13 registered for more than five tons, motorcycle, or truck 14 tractor, may display one registration plate on the rear of the 15 vehicle if the other registration plate issued to the vehicle 16 is carried in the vehicle at all times when the vehicle is 17 operated on a public highway. 18 -1- HF 2148 (4) 86 ns/nh/md 1/ 1
