Section
1.
Section
260C.14,
Code
2011,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

SUBSECTION
.
23.
Adopt
rules
requiring
a
faculty
member

on
a
leave
of
absence
with
full
or
partial
compensation
because
4
the
faculty
member
is
charged
with
the
commission
of
a
public
5
offense
classified
as
a
felony,
an
aggravated
misdemeanor,
or
6
a
serious
misdemeanor
to
repay
to
the
community
college
all
7
salary
the
faculty
member
received
during
the
period
of
the
8
leave
of
absence
if
the
faculty
member
is
convicted
of
the
9
public
offense.

2.
Section
262.9,
Code
2011,
is
amended
by
adding
the
11
following
new
subsection:

Require
each
of
the
institutions
of

higher
education
governed
by
the
board
to
adopt
rules
requiring

a
faculty
member
on
a
leave
of
absence
with
full
or
partial

compensation
because
the
faculty
member
is
charged
with
the

commission
of
a
public
offense
classified
as
a
felony,
an
17
aggravated
misdemeanor,
or
a
serious
misdemeanor
to
repay
to
18
the
institution
all
salary
the
faculty
member
received
during
19
the
period
of
the
leave
of
absence
if
the
faculty
member
is
20
convicted
of
the
public
offense.

Leave
of
absence
for
charge
of

a
crime
——
salary
repayment.
23
A
teacher
on
a
leave
of
absence
with
full
or
partial

compensation
because
the
teacher
is
charged
with
the
commission

of
a
public
offense
classified
as
a
felony,
an
aggravated
26
misdemeanor,
or
a
serious
misdemeanor
shall
repay
to
the
school
27
district
employing
the
teacher
all
salary
the
teacher
received
28
during
the
period
of
the
leave
of
absence
if
the
teacher
is
29
convicted
of
the
public
offense.
