H.F. 268 Section 1. Section 483A.8B, Code 2011, is amended to read 1 as follows: 2 483A.8B Senior crossbow deer hunting licenses. 3 1. A person who is a resident and who is seventy sixty-five 4 years of age or older may be issued one special senior 5 statewide antlerless deer only crossbow deer hunting license 6 to hunt deer during bow season as established by rule by the 7 commission. A person who obtains a license to hunt deer under 8 this section is not required to pay the wildlife habitat fee 9 but shall be otherwise qualified to hunt deer in this state and 10 shall have a resident hunting license. 11 2. A person may obtain a license under this section in 12 addition to a statewide antlered or any sex deer hunting bow 13 season license. Season dates, shooting hours, limits, license 14 quotas, and other regulations for this license shall be the 15 same as set forth by the commission by rule for bow season deer 16 hunts. 17 Sec. 2. NEW SECTION . 483A.8D Senior shotgun season deer 18 hunting licenses. 19 1. A person who is a resident and is sixty-five years of age 20 or older may be issued one special senior statewide antlered or 21 any sex deer hunting license which is valid and may be used to 22 hunt deer with a shotgun during first or second shotgun deer 23 hunting season. 24 2. A person who obtains a deer hunting license under this 25 section is not required to pay the wildlife habitat fee but 26 shall purchase a deer hunting license and a hunting license, 27 be otherwise qualified to hunt, and pay a one dollar fee that 28 shall be used and is appropriated for the purpose of deer herd 29 population management, including assisting with the cost of 30 processing deer donated to the help us stop hunger program 31 administered by the commission. 32 3. A person who obtains a special senior statewide antlered 33 or any sex deer hunting license under this section is not 34 eligible to obtain another antlered or any sex deer hunting 35 -1- HF 268 (6) 84 av/sc/mb 1/ 2

H.F. 268 license for use during muzzleloader or shotgun deer hunting 1 season. 2 4.
