  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  556B.2  ABANDONED VEHICLES NEAR
  1  2 BODIES OF WATER.
  1  3    1.  If an abandoned vehicle for which the owner can be
  1  4 identified is removed pursuant to section 556B.1 and the
  1  5 vehicle was found within one hundred feet of a river, stream,
  1  6 or creek, the owner of the vehicle shall be assessed, in
  1  7 addition to the costs described in section 556B.1, a civil
  1  8 penalty in the amount of five hundred dollars.  For purposes
  1  9 of this section, "abandoned vehicle" has the same meaning as
  1 10 in section 321.89, subsection 1.
  1 11    2.  One=half of the revenues received from civil penalties
  1 12 assessed pursuant to this section shall be deposited in the
  1 13 keep Iowa beautiful fund established pursuant to section
  1 14 314.28, and one=half of the revenues shall be paid to the
  1 15 county treasurer for deposit in the county's general fund.
