Other 15 names: N-pyrrolidino protonitazene; protonitazepyne. 16 Sec. 5. Section 124.204, subsection 9, paragraphs c, e, and 17 f, Code 2026, are amended by striking the paragraphs. 18 Sec. 6. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of immediate 19 importance, takes effect upon enactment. 20 EXPLANATION 21 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 22 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 23 This bill relates to controlled substances, including 24 certain controlled substances schedules. 25 The bill makes changes to the controlled substances schedule 26 I in Iowa’s uniform controlled substances Act (Code chapter 27 124) to conform to the specific chemical designations of 28 the substances contained in Title 21 of the Code of Federal 29 Regulations, part 1308. 30 A violation involving a controlled substance included in the 31 bill may result in a class “B” felony, and in addition to the 32 25-year mandatory minimum term of imprisonment for class “B” 33 felons, a fine of not less than $5,000 nor more than $100,000; 34 a class “C” felony punishable by imprisonment up to 10 years 35 -2- LSB 5521DP (5) 91 as/js 2/ 3
