S.F. _____ H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 35A.5, subsection 11, Code 2026, is 1 amended by striking the subsection. 2 Sec. 2. REPEAL. Section 37A.1, Code 2026, is repealed. 3 EXPLANATION 4 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 5 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 6 This bill repeals Code section 37A.1, which makes the 7 sale, trade, or transfer of veterans commemorative property 8 on a person’s property a simple misdemeanor if done without 9 the department of veterans affairs’ authorization, creates 10 criteria for the department to use in granting authorization, 11 and gives the department rulemaking authority to administer 12 the Code section. The bill also strikes a corresponding 13 provision requiring the department to authorize a sale, trade, 14 or transfer of veterans commemorative property pursuant to Code 15 section 37A.1. 16 -1- LSB 5304XD (1) 91 sc/ns 1/ 1
