State
Government
Affairs
Council
was

established
50
years
ago
with
the
mission
to
advance

support
the
state
government
affairs
profession

by
building
knowledge,
promoting
diverse
perspectives

in
a
nonpartisan
environment,
and
fostering
community
7
and
relationship
building
with
peers
and
elected
8
officials;
and
9
WHEREAS,
the
members
of
the
State
Government
10
Affairs
Council
have
consistently
worked
to
enhance
11
understanding
and
communication
between
the
public
and
12
private
sectors
by
ensuring
the
fair
representation
of
13
diverse
interests,
advocating
for
policies
that
promote
14
unparalleled
educational
opportunities,
providing
15
a
forum
for
members
and
policymakers
to
convene
and
16
collaborate,
mentoring
the
next
generation
of
state
17
government
affairs
professionals,
and
promoting
all
18
aspects
of
diversity;
and
19
WHEREAS,
through
collaboration
with
legislative
20
bodies,
administrative
agencies,
and
community
21
stakeholders,
the
State
Government
Affairs
Council
22
has
helped
build
a
more
responsive,
transparent,
and
23
accountable
government
at
the
state
level;
and

WHEREAS,
the
State
Government
Affairs
Council
has
25
fostered
a
forward-thinking
platform
for
addressing
26
emerging
challenges
in
state
governance;
and

WHEREAS,
the
State
Government
Affairs
Council

legacy
of
fostering
leadership,
training,
and

advocacy
that
has
shaped
the
professional
development

thousands
of
individuals
in

WHEREAS,
the
50th
anniversary
of
the
State

Government
Affairs
Council
represents
a
milestone

of
achievement
and
service
in
the
State
Government

Affairs
Council’s
ongoing
commitment
to
excellence
in

government
affairs;
NOW
THEREFORE,

BE
IT
RESOLVED
BY
THE
SENATE,
That
the
Senate

recognizes
the
State
Government
Affairs
Council
11
for
50
years
of
dedicated
service
and
significant
12
contributions
to
the
relationship
between
state
and
13
local
governments,
businesses,
and
communities
and
14
encourages
continued
support
for
the
State
Government
15
Affairs
Council’s
mission;
and

BE
IT
FURTHER
RESOLVED,
That
the
Senate

congratulates
the
State
Government
Affairs
Council
18
on
reaching
this
remarkable
milestone
and
commends
19
the
members
of
the
State
Government
Affairs
Council
20
for
their
tireless
work
to
advocate
for
sound
policy
21
decisions,
transparency,
and
good
governance;
and

IT
FURTHER
RESOLVED,
That
upon
adoption,
a

copy
of
this
resolution
shall
be
sent
to
the

Council.
