amended
to
read
as
follows:

The
governing
body
shall
make
available
on
its
internet

site,
at
least
sixty
thirty
days
prior
to
submitting
a
proposal
4
for
election
pursuant
to
section
388.2
,
a
copy
of
each
item
5
listed
in
paragraphs
“a”
through
“f”
of
this
subsection
.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
timelines
for
online
information
10
availability
concerning
the
discontinuance
of
city
utilities.

Under
current
law,
a
proposal
to
discontinue
a
city
utility
12
and
dispose
of
such
utility
by
sale,
whether
upon
the
city
13
council’s
motion
or
upon
the
receipt
of
a
valid
petition,
14
is
subject
to
the
approval
of
the
voters
of
the
city.
The
15
city
must
make
the
proposal
available
at
least
60
days
before
16
submitting
a
proposal
for
the
election.
Under
the
bill,
the
17
approval
requirement
is
changed
to
require
the
city
to
make
18
the
proposal
available
at
least
30
days
before
submitting
a
19
proposal
for
the
election.
