Section 483A.24, subsection 2, paragraph a, 1 subparagraph (2), subparagraph division (a), Code 2025, is 2 amended to read as follows: 3 (a) (i) Are in tracts of two or more contiguous acres for 4 parcels for which subparagraph subdivision (ii) does not apply . 5 (ii) Are in tracts of twenty or more contiguous acres for 6 parcels bought on or after January 11, 2027. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 This bill relates to size requirements of a farm unit for 11 purposes of receiving special turkey and deer hunting licenses. 12 Under current Code section 483A.24, a “farm unit” is defined 13 to include parcels of land in tracts of two or more contiguous 14 acres. The bill amends the definition of “farm unit” to 15 require the inclusion of parcels of land in tracts of 20 or 16 more contiguous acres for parcels bought on or after January 17 11, 2027. Code section 483A.24 authorizes an owner or tenant 18 of a farm unit to receive special turkey and deer hunting 19 licenses for use on the farm unit. 20 -1- LSB 2230SV (3) 91 sb/js 1/ 1
