NEW SECTION . 249A.59 Nursing facility —— cost 1 reports. 2 A nursing facility shall include in the facility’s annual 3 cost report submitted to the department an affidavit signed by 4 the owner or chief executive officer of the nursing facility 5 that states all costs are accurately reported in the cost 6 report and that, to the owner’s or chief executive officer’s 7 knowledge, all Medicaid claims have been submitted in good 8 faith. 9 EXPLANATION 10 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 11 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 12 This bill relates to cost reports submitted by nursing 13 facilities to the department of health and human services. 14 The bill requires a nursing facility to include in the annual 15 cost report an affidavit signed by the owner or chief executive 16 officer of the nursing facility stating that the costs in the 17 report are accurate and that the Medicaid claims have been 18 submitted in good faith. 19 -1- LSB 1522XS (2) 91 lh/ko 1/ 1
