S.F. 374 Section 1. Section 598.23, subsection 2, Code 2025, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . e. Direct the person found in contempt 3 to pay the reasonable attorney fees incurred by a party as a 4 result of the person’s actions constituting contempt. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 This bill allows a court that finds a person has willfully 9 disobeyed a temporary order or final decree in a dissolution of 10 marriage proceeding to direct the person to pay the reasonable 11 attorney fees incurred by a party as a result of the person’s 12 actions constituting contempt. 13 -1- LSB 2620XS (2) 91 dg/jh 1/ 1
