1.
NEW
SECTION
.
727.13
Administration
of
gene-based
1
vaccines.

1.
A
person
shall
not
provide
or
administer
a
gene-based
3
vaccine
to
another
person
in
this
state.

2.
A
person
who
violates
this
section
is
guilty
of
a
simple
5
misdemeanor
and
is
subject
to
a
fine
of
five
hundred
dollars
6
per
incident.

3.
The
appropriate
licensing
board
within
the
department
of
8
inspections,
appeals,
and
licensing
shall
review
the
license
of
9
a
person
licensed
under
chapter
147
who
violates
this
section.

4.
For
purposes
of
this
section,
“gene-based
vaccine”
11
means
a
vaccine
developed
using
messenger
ribonucleic
acid
12
technology,
modified
messenger
ribonucleic
acid
technology,
13
self-amplifying
messenger
ribonucleic
acid
technology,
or
14
deoxyribonucleic
acid
technology.

The
inclusion

This
bill
relates
to
the
administration
of
gene-based

vaccines.

The
bill
provides
that
a
person
shall
not
provide
or

administer
a
gene-based
vaccine
to
another
person
in
this

state.
A
person
who
violates
the
bill
is
guilty
of
a
simple
23
misdemeanor
and
is
subject
to
a
fine
of
$500
per
incident.

The
bill
directs
the
appropriate
licensing
board
within
25
the
department
of
inspections,
appeals,
and
licensing
to
26
review
the
license
of
a
person
licensed
under
Code
chapter
27
147
(health-related
professions)
who
violates
the
bill.
The
28
bill
defines
gene-based
vaccine
as
a
vaccine
developed
using
29
messenger
ribonucleic
acid
technology,
modified
messenger
30
ribonucleic
acid
technology,
self-amplifying
messenger
31
ribonucleic
acid
technology,
or
deoxyribonucleic
acid

technology.
