Section
99B.15,
subsection
1,
paragraph
e,
Code

2026,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

e.
A
prize
shall
be
distributed
on
the
day
the
prize
is
won,

except
that
if
the
winner
is
not
present,
notification
to
the
4
winner
shall
be
made
as
soon
as
practical
within
one
year
of
5
the
prize
being
awarded
.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
8
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

For
purposes
of
social
and
charitable
gambling,
this
bill
10
requires
a
licensed
qualified
organization
to
send
notification
11
to
a
winner
of
a
prize
who
is
not
present
when
the
prize
is
12
awarded
within
one
year
of
the
prize
being
awarded.
Current
13
law
requires
a
licensed
qualified
organization
to
notify
an
14
absent
winner
as
soon
as
practical.
