fund

the

for

appropriated

such
purpose
for

The
appropriation
made
in
this
section
shall
be
used
to

provide
a
grant
to
the
Iowa
healthiest
state
initiative
to

support
the
double
up
food
bucks
program
to
make
fresh
fruits
12
and
vegetables
sold
at
farmers
markets,
grocery
stores,
and
13
other
participating
locations
accessible
to
individuals
and
14
families
who
reside
in
this
state
and
receive
assistance
15
through
the
federal
supplemental
nutrition
assistance
program.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
appropriates
$1
million
from
the
general
fund
of
20
the
state
to
the
department
of
health
and
human
services
for
FY
21
2025-2026,
in
addition
to
any
other
funding
appropriated
for
22
such
purpose
for
the
same
fiscal
year,
to
be
used
to
provide
23
a
grant
to
the
Iowa
healthiest
state
initiative
to
support
24
the
double
up
food
bucks
program.
The
program
makes
fresh
25
fruits
and
vegetables
sold
at
farmers
markets,
grocery
stores,
26
and
other
participating
locations
accessible
to
individuals
27
and
families
who
reside
in
this
state
and
receive
assistance
28
through
the
federal
supplemental
nutrition
assistance
program.
