S.F. 2065 Section 1. Section 725.1, subsection 2, Code 2026, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 2. a. Except as provided in paragraph “b” , a person who 3 purchases or offers to purchase another person’s services as a 4 partner in a sex act commits an aggravated misdemeanor a class 5 “D” felony . 6 b. A person who purchases or offers to purchase services as 7 a partner in a sex act from a person who is under the age of 8 eighteen, or who is reasonably believed to be under the age of 9 eighteen including a law enforcement officer or agent posing 10 as a minor under the age of eighteen, commits a class “D” “C” 11 felony. 12 EXPLANATION 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 14 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 15 This bill relates to prostitution. 16 Code section 725.1(2) provides that a person who purchases 17 or offers to purchase another person’s services as a partner 18 in a sex act commits an aggravated misdemeanor. A person who 19 purchases or offers to purchase services as a partner in a 20 sex act from a person who is under the age of 18, or who is 21 reasonably believed to be under the age of 18 including a law 22 enforcement officer or agent posing as a minor under the age of 23 18, commits a class “D” felony. 24 The bill provides that a person who purchases or offers to 25 purchase another person’s services as a partner in a sex act 26 commits a class “D” felony.
