S.F. 15 Section 1. Section 543B.16, Code 2025, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 4. The application form prepared or 3 furnished by the real estate commission must allow a person 4 holding a real estate broker license who is applying for a real 5 estate salesperson license, or a person holding a real estate 6 salesperson license who is applying for a real estate broker 7 license, to indicate whether the license being applied for 8 shall become effective upon approval of the application or upon 9 the expiration of the applicant’s current license. 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 This bill relates to the license application form for 14 real estate brokers and salespersons. Under the bill, an 15 application form for a license must allow a person holding a 16 real estate broker license who is applying for a real estate 17 salesperson license, or vice versa, to indicate whether the 18 license being applied for shall become effective upon approval 19 of the application or upon the expiration of the applicant’s 20 current license. 21 -1- LSB 1576XS (2) 91 nls/ko 1/ 1
