S.F. 140 Section 1. Section 53.11, subsection 1, paragraph c, Code 1 2025, is amended by adding the following new subparagraph: 2 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (5) The site requested is on school 3 property and a question to approve a bond, an instructional 4 support program, an educational improvement program, a physical 5 plant and equipment levy, or public education and recreation 6 levy issued by any school appears on the ballot to be voted at 7 that election. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill requires a county commissioner of elections to 12 reject an otherwise valid petition to establish a satellite 13 absentee voting station if the site requested is on school 14 property and a question to approve a bond, an instructional 15 support program, an educational improvement program, a physical 16 plant and equipment levy, or public education and recreation 17 levy issued by any school appears on the ballot to be voted at 18 that election. 19 -1- LSB 2131XS (2) 91 ss/ns 1/ 1
