the
Kirkwood
Community

Eagles
(Cedar
Rapids,
Iowa)
defeated
the

Parkland
College
Cobras
(Champaign,
Illinois)
in

the
championship
game
of
the
National
Junior
College

Athletic
Association
(NJCAA)
Division
II
national

basketball
tournament;
and
11
WHEREAS,
Traijan
Sain
secured
Kirkwood’s
nail-biting

55-54
victory
by
scoring
a
free
throw
with
one
second
13
remaining;
and
14
WHEREAS,
redshirt
freshman
Lucas
Lueth
was
named
the
15
Pin
Ryan
Most
Valuable
Player
of
the
tournament
with
46

points,
26
rebounds,
7
steals,
and
9
blocks
overall,

including
10
points,
7
rebounds,
1
steal,
and
2
blocks

in
the
championship
game;
and

WHEREAS,
Traijan
Sain,
Lucas
Lueth,
and
Colby

were
named
to
the
2025
NJCAA

Tournament
All-Tournament
Team;

WHEREAS,
Tim
Sandquist,
completing
his
sixth
season

as
head
coach
of
the
Eagles,
was
named
Coach
of
the

Tournament;
and

WHEREAS,
with
14
tournament
appearances,
Kirkwood

ranks
second
all-time
in
NJCAA
Division
II
history
and

record;
and

WHEREAS,
Kirkwood
finished
its
season
with
a
33-3

record
and

fourth
national
championship

its

program
history
(1998,
2016,
2019,
and

2025);
NOW
THEREFORE,

BE
IT
RESOLVED
BY
THE
HOUSE
OF
REPRESENTATIVES,

That
the
House
of
Representatives
recognizes
and

congratulates
the
Kirkwood
Community
College
men’s

basketball
team
for
its
outstanding
basketball
10
season
this
year,
including
its
championship
victory
11
at
the
2025
NJCAA
Division
II
national
basketball

tournament;
and

BE
IT
FURTHER
RESOLVED,
That
upon
adoption,
the

Clerk
of
the
House
of
Representatives
shall
