department
shall
adopt
rules
pursuant
to
chapter

provide
for
an
application,
approval,
and
inspection

process
for
the
purchase
and
installation
of
signs
indicating

the
“President
Donald
J.
Trump
Highway”
designation
by
private

entities.
The
department
shall
approve
applications
for
sign

purchase
and
installation
that
meet
its
rule
requirements.
All

costs
and
expenses
of
the
purchase
and
installation
of
the

signs
shall
be
paid
by
the
private
entity
whose
application
is

approved.
The
department
may
approve
more
than
one
application

to
purchase
and
install
the
signs.

2.
APPLICABILITY.
This
Act
applies
to
the
highway
17
known
as
United
States
highway
75
described
in
this
Act
on
the
18
effective
date
of
this
Act,
and
shall
apply
to
that
highway
19
thereafter
regardless
of
whether
the
highway’s
designation
20
as
United
States
highway
75
is
subsequently
changed
by
the
21
government
of
the
United
States.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
designates
United
States
highway
75
which
crosses

the
state
from
Sioux
City
to
the
Minnesota
border
north
of
Rock

Rapids
as
the
“President
Donald
J.
Trump
Highway”.

The
bill
requires
the
department
of
transportation
(DOT)

to
adopt
rules
to
provide
for
an
application,
approval,
and

inspection
process
for
the
purchase
and
installation
of
signs

indicating
the
“President
Donald
J.
Trump
Highway”
designation

by
private
entities.
The
bill
requires
all
costs
and
expenses

of
the
purchase
and
installation
of

signs
to
