H.F. 337 Section 1. MEDICAID —— DENTAL WELLNESS PLAN —— 1 REIMBURSEMENT. The department of health and human services 2 shall require any Medicaid dental plan contractor managing 3 the provision of dental care to Medicaid members through the 4 Medicaid dental wellness plan to align reimbursement rates 5 for dental providers with the reimbursement rates for dental 6 providers under the healthy and well kids in Iowa (Hawki) 7 program under chapter 514I, in order to maximize dental 8 provider participation in and member access to dental services 9 under the Medicaid dental wellness plan. 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 This bill relates to dental services provided to members 14 under the Medicaid dental wellness plan. The bill requires the 15 department of health and human services to require any Medicaid 16 dental plan contractor for the Medicaid dental wellness plan 17 to align reimbursement rates for dental providers with the 18 reimbursement rates for dental providers under the healthy and 19 well kids in Iowa (Hawki) program to maximize dental provider 20 participation in and member access to dental services. 21 -1- LSB 2118YH (1) 91 lh/ko 1/ 1
