“Campground”
means
the
same
as
defined
in
section
557B.l.

“Department”
means
the
department

natural
resources.

“Floodplain”
means
the
same
as
“floodplains”
as
defined

455B.261.

A
campground
operating
in
a
floodplain
in
the
state
of

Iowa
shall
have
all
of
the
following:

a.
An
emergency
alarm
system
installed
and
operating
10
within
the
campground
that
can
function
without
an
internet
11
connection.

b.
Emergency
evacuation
directions
posted
in
all
occupied
13
structures.

The
department
shall
have
the
power
and
authority

reasonably
necessary
to
effectuate
this
section.

This
bill
relates
to
camping,
including
emergency
safety

requirements
at
campgrounds
located
in
floodplains.
The
bill

requires
a
campground
operating
in
a
floodplain
in
Iowa
to
have
22
an
emergency
alarm
system
that
can
function
without
an
internet
23
connection
and
to
post
emergency
evacuation
directions
in
all
24
occupied
structures.
The
bill
authorizes
the
department
of
25
natural
resources
to
effectuate
the
bill.
