Section
1.
Section
256.146,
subsection
1,
paragraph
a,
1
subparagraph
(2),
Code
2026,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

(2)
Establish
issuance
and
renewal
requirements,
provided

that
a
continuing
education
requirement
may
be
completed
by
4
electronic
means,
and
there
shall
be
no
renewal
requirement
for
5
a
practitioner
any
of
the
following
practitioners:

(a)
A
practitioner
who
has
been
employed
as
a
practitioner
7
for
at
least
ten
years
and
who
possesses
a
master’s
or
doctoral
8
degree,
unless
the
practitioner
holds
an
evaluator
approval
9
endorsement,
which
must
be
renewed
at
least
once
every
ten
10
years.

(b)
A
practitioner
who
has
been
employed
as
a
practitioner
12
for
at
least
twenty
years,
unless
the
practitioner
holds
an
13
evaluator
approval
endorsement,
which
must
be
renewed
at
least
14
once
every
ten
years.

inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
renewal
requirements
associated
with
19
licenses
issued
by
the
board
of
educational
examiners
(BOEE)
to
20
certain
specified
practitioners.
21
Current
law
authorizes
the
BOEE
to
establish
renewal
22
requirements
for
licensed
practitioners.
Under
current
23
law,
there
is
no
renewal
requirement
for
a
practitioner
who
24
has
been
employed
as
a
practitioner
for
at
least
10
years
25
and
who
possesses
a
master’s
or
doctoral
degree,
unless
the
26
practitioner
holds
an
evaluator
approval
endorsement,
which
27
must
be
renewed
at
least
once
every
10
years.
The
bill
28
provides
that
there
shall
also
be
no
renewal
requirement
for
29
a
practitioner
who
has
been
employed
as
a
practitioner
for
at
30
least
20
years,
unless
the
practitioner
holds
an
evaluator
31
approval
endorsement,
which
must
be
renewed
at
least
once
every
32
10
years.
The
BOEE
is
required
to
conduct
certain
criminal
33
history
registry
checks
related
to
such
practitioners
every
34
five
years.
The
bill
does
not
affect
the
BOEE’s
ability
to

deny

revoke
a
license
under
Code
section
256.146(13).
