read
as
follows:

individual
who
submits
an
application
pursuant

to
subsection

shall,

a
minimum,
submit
proof
of

successful
completion
of
a
two-year
or
four-year
police

science
or
criminal
justice
program
at
an
accredited

educational
institution
approved
by
the
academy,
and
or
meet

the
qualifications
set
forth
in
section
80B.11H,
subsections

subsection

and
or
3
.

This
section
applies
only
to
individuals
who
apply
for

certification
through
a
short
course
of
study
level
II
academy

training
program
as
established
by
rule.

An
individual
who
has
not
been
hired
by
a
law
enforcement

agency
must
be
hired
by
a
law
enforcement
agency
within
14
eighteen
months
of
completing
the
short
course
of
study
level
15
II
academy
training
program
in
order
to
obtain
certification

pursuant
to
this
section
.

does

constitute
agreement

the
members

This
bill
relates
to
level
II
law
enforcement
academy

training
programs.

The
bill
provides
that
an
individual
who
submits
an
23
application
for
attendance
at
an
approved
level
II
academy
24
training
program
shall,
at
a
minimum,
submit
proof
of
25
successful
completion
of
a
two-year
or
four-year
police
26
science
or
criminal
justice
program
at
an
accredited
27
educational
institution
approved
by
the
academy,
or
meet
28
the
qualifications
set
forth
in
Code
section
80B.11H(1)
(for
29
military
veterans
with
active
duty
military
police
experience)
30
or
Code
section
80B.11H(3)
(for
federal
law
enforcement
31
officers).
