H.F. 2111 Section 1. Section 907.3, subsection 2, paragraph a, Code 1 2026, is amended by adding the following new subparagraph: 2 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (10) The offense is a violation of 3 section 728.12. 4 Sec. 2. Section 907.3, subsection 3, Code 2026, is amended 5 by adding the following new paragraph: 6 NEW PARAGRAPH . i. A sentence imposed pursuant to section 7 728.12. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill relates to deferred or suspended sentences for 12 cases involving sexual exploitation of a minor. 13 Current law provides that a court may not defer the judgment 14 if the offense is a violation of Code section 728.12 (sexual 15 exploitation of a minor). 16 The bill provides that a court may not defer or suspend a 17 sentence for a violation of Code section 728.12. 18 -1- LSB 5680YH (2) 91 as/js 1/ 1
