The
cybersecurity
simulation
training
center
is

established
in
the
center
for
cybersecurity
innovation

and
outreach
at
the
Iowa
state
university
of
science
and

technology.

2.
The
cybersecurity
simulation
training
center
shall

conduct
and
sponsor
research
and
activities
that
enable
persons
8
to
develop
strategies
to
counter
cybersecurity
threats
and
9
mitigate
the
damage
resulting
from
a
cybersecurity
attack.

3.
The
cybersecurity
simulation
training
center
shall
be

available
to
businesses,
state
agencies,
political
subdivisions

of
the
state,
students,
and
educators,
and
shall
support
all

of
the
following:

There
is
appropriated
from

the
general
fund
of
the
state
to
the
state
board
of
regents
for

fiscal
year
beginning
July
1,
2023,
and
ending
June
30,

2024,
the
following
amount,
or
so
much
thereof
as
is
necessary,

to
be
used
for
the
purposes
designated:

the

the

of

and
technology

established
pursuant
to
section
266.50,
as
enacted
in
this

This
bill
establishes
the
cybersecurity
simulation
training

center
at
the
Iowa
state
university
of
science
and
technology.

The
bill
requires
the
center
to
conduct
and
sponsor
research
4
and
activities
that
enable
persons
to
develop
strategies
to
5
counter
cybersecurity
threats
and
mitigate
the
damage
resulting

from
a
cybersecurity
attack.
The
bill
provides
that
the
center
7
shall
be
available
to
businesses,
state
agencies,
political

of
the
state,
students,
and
educators,
and
shall

support
cybersecurity
training
exercises,
case
studies,
student

events
and
competitions,
training
exercises
for
educators,
and

cybersecurity

The
bill

$2.5
million
from
the
general
fund
of

the
state
to
the
state
board
of
regents
for
FY
2023-2024
for

purposes
of
the
center.
