amended
by
adding

the
following
new
subsections:

SUBSECTION

01.
“Agricultural
land”
means
land
suitable

for
the
use
of
farming.

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
2A.
“Commercially
owned
solar
panel
field”
5
or
“solar
panel
field”
means
a
device
or
structural
feature
6
owned
by
a
corporate
entity
that
collects
solar
energy
by
means
7
of
converting
solar
radiation
into
thermal,
mechanical,
or
8
electrical
energy.

Agricultural
land

solar

panel
eligibility.

A
commercially
owned
solar
panel
field
shall
not
be
12
installed
upon
agricultural
land
unless
all
of
the
following
13
apply:

1.
The
solar
panel
field
is
not
less
than
one
hundred
fifty
15
feet
from
the
nearest
adjacent
landowner.
16
2.
The
solar
panel
field
is
not
less
than
one
thousand
two
17
hundred
feet
from
the
nearest
residence
or
livestock
facility.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does

constitute
agreement

the
members

the
general

This
bill
relates
to
commercially
owned
solar
panel
field

installation
on
agricultural
land.

The
bill
defines
“agricultural
land”
to
mean
land
that
24
is
suitable
for
farming.
The
bill
defines
“commercially
25
owned
solar
panel
field”
or
“solar
panel
field”
to
include
26
corporately
owned
devices
or
structural
features
that
27
collect
and
convert
solar
radiation
into
other
energy.
The
28
bill
prohibits
a
commercially
owned
solar
panel
field
from
29
installation
on
agricultural
land
unless
the
solar
panel
field
30
is
at
least
150
feet
from
the
nearest
adjacent
landowner
and
31
1,200
feet
from
the
nearest
residence
or
livestock
facility.
