S.F. _____ Section 1. Section 142C.18, Code 2023, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 3A. The state department of transportation 3 and the department of natural resources shall transfer to the 4 person that administers the Iowa donor registry, at no cost to 5 such person, the relevant information specified in subsections 6 2 and 3. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 This bill relates to the transfer of information, by 11 affected state agencies to the Iowa donor network, relating to 12 anatomical gifts. 13 The bill provides that the state department of 14 transportation and the department of natural resources 15 shall transfer to the person that administers the Iowa donor 16 registry, currently defined under Code section 142C.2 as the 17 Iowa donor network, at no cost, all relevant information 18 regarding a donor’s making of an anatomical gift. 19 -1- LSB 1472XC (2) 90 pf/rh 1/ 1
