S.F. _____ Section 1. Section 237A.5, subsection 1, Code 2023, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 1. All personnel in licensed or registered facilities 3 shall have good health as evidenced by a report following a 4 preemployment physical examination taken within six months 5 prior to beginning employment or within thirty days following 6 the beginning of employment . The examination shall include 7 communicable disease tests by a licensed physician as defined 8 in section 135C.1 or a licensed physician assistant as defined 9 in section 148C.1 and shall be repeated every three years after 10 initial employment. Controlled medical conditions which would 11 not affect the performance of the employee in the capacity 12 employed shall not prohibit employment. 13 EXPLANATION 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 15 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 16 This bill provides that all personnel of a licensed 17 or registered child care facility shall take a physical 18 examination to evidence good health within 6 months prior to 19 beginning employment or within 30 days following the beginning 20 of employment. 21 -1- LSB 1430XC (1) 90 dg/rh 1/ 1
